Interesting post in sanitation updates. The collection and transportation part are important issues which iDE recognising and is seeking to address in future work, because it relates to treatment and safe disposal. Without treatment and safe disposal, for on-site latrines, you are merely postponing dealing with a major issue and potentially putting people off using toilets altogether. You may also create more of a health hazard due to improper disposal/emptying. I am wondering if the choice to not include collection and transportation is in recognition of laws in India where there are laws against the transportation of human waste.
